I'M MOLLY!

i started making necklaces last summer when my therapist encouraged me to do something for my inner child after a session. when i contemplated what that could be, i had a vivid memory of making beaded jewelry at summer camp as a child. i dug out the beads i’d slowly collected over many years of traveling and moving around, sat down on a floor pillow at my coffee table, and haven’t stopped making necklaces since.

the beads are sourced from a discarded bead collection discovered on facebook marketplace; craft stores; a no-longer bead shop in hawi, hawai’i; a 43-year-old bead shop in the middle of nowhere, michigan; and deconstructed jewelry from my aunt, my mom, my college boyfriend’s mom, thrift stores all over, a consignment shop in st. john, usvi and many forgotten places. the pieces are finished with sterling silver findings.

i’ve fallen in love with beading and the part of myself it connects me to. it has evoked a nearly forgotten sense of curiosity, spontaneity and true joy. my wish is for this to be transmitted through each piece so much that it stirs up those parts of your little self, too.
